When Will LRT Launch and How Much Will Fare Be?

The test launch of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system will begin in September 2025, Astana akim Zhenis Kasymbek said during a meeting with residents, Orda.kz reports.
“We plan to launch the first trains in test mode in September. Based on the results of the tests, it will be clear when it will be fully put into operation. Usually, test modes last from three to six months,” Kasymbek said.
A full launch is therefore expected early next year. These timelines have previously been mentioned by the city authorities. The fare will be 200 tenge.
