The head of the regional department of energy and housing and communal services, Miras Mulkay, named several reasons for the fuel shortage at refueling stations, Orda.kz reports, citing “Moi Gorod.”
The deficit arose due to the shutdown of the Aryrau Oil Refinery for scheduled maintenance and the redirection of gas shipments to other oil refineries.
This situation has led to decreased balances at storage bases, introducing restrictions on sales for several refueling stations and the transition to coupons. Now, together with the Ministry of Energy, we are considering the issue of allocating additional volumes of reduced petroleum gas from other sources, noted Miras Mulkay.
Another reason for the shortage of liquefied gas at the region's gas stations is the increased number of vehicles refueled with gas. According to the police department, in 2024, every tenth vehicle registered in the area is refueled with gas, an increase of 30 percent over the past year.
