From Station Cashier to KTZ Chair: Who Now Runs Kazakhstan’s Rail Sector

Talgat Aldybergenov has been appointed Chair of the Management Board of the national railway company “Kazakhstan Temir Joly” (KTZ), Orda.kz reports.
Born on April 10, 1970, in the West Kazakhstan Region, Aldybergenov is a graduate of the Almaty Institute of Railway Transport Engineers and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
He began his career as a freight cashier at the railway station in Oral, later serving as deputy station chief, deputy head of the freight and commercial operations department, and a rail freight inspector.
In 1998, he became the first director of the Aqtobe branch of the ZheldorEkspeditsiya. He went on to head the Aqtobe branch of the Corporate Transport Services Center under KTZ and later led the transport logistics department at KazMunayGas Trading House.
In 2008, Aldybergenov was appointed president of Kedentransservice JSC. He has also chaired several local companies and worked as an advisor to the president of the Caspy Commodity Exchange.
Since June 2024, he has served as the Deputy Head of Kazakhstan Temir Joly.
His predecessor recently took office as Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport.
