Uzbekistan's Diplomatic Mission Files Diplomatic Note Over Assault and Abuse of Its Citizens in Vladivostok

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok has filed a diplomatic note over the assault and humiliation of Uzbek nationals, Consul General Yusup Kabulzhanov confirmed, Orda.kz reports.
Videos of the assaults, circulated online, show Uzbek citizens being attacked and insulted on ethnic grounds. According to investigators, the incidents took place on the night of September 10. A group of teenagers allegedly damaged a parked car, assaulted drivers and passers-by, and shouted ethnic slurs.
Russia’s Investigative Committee for Primorsky Krai has opened a criminal case. One suspect has been detained, while two others remain wanted, according to AsiaPlus.
All are reported to be 15 years old and previously known to law enforcement.
Earlier this month, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry also lodged a protest with Russia over another case involving insults against an Uzbek taxi driver in Khimki, near Moscow.
