Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has secured Uzbekistan as a new customer for its ANKA drone system, Orda reports, citing SavunmaSanayi.
Deliveries are expected to commence shortly. However, the number of drones and the contract value are undisclosed.
According to SavunmaSanayiST.com, TUSAŞ has recently finalized an agreement with Uzbekistan to export ANKA drones, with deliveries scheduled to begin soon.
This latest deal expands TAI's international presence, bringing the number of countries operating ANKA drones to seven, while their AKSUNGUR UCAV has been exported to four nations.
Other ANKA drone contractors include Algeria, Tunisia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Chad. Indonesia announced the acquisition of 12 ANKA drones in August 2023, but a recent report suggests that the procurement contract has not become effective.
In 2023, Kazakhstan announced that it would assemble the ANKA drones.
