Foreign, economy, trade, and transport ministers from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye signed a comprehensive declaration on 31 January, Orda reports, citing Gazeta.uz.
The declaration focuses on regional connectivity and mutual sovereignty protection.
The Ankara Declaration outlines extensive cooperation in transport infrastructure, particularly strengthening the Middle Corridor connecting Europe and Asia.
The agreement includes the implementation of digital transport documentation (eCMR) and the establishment of a simplified customs corridor between member states.
The three nations pledged mutual support for territorial integrity and agreed to counter threats to sovereignty jointly. They also backed the development of key infrastructure projects, including the Baku International Port and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
The declaration supports Azerbaijan's reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and endorses the Trans-Afghan Railway project as crucial for regional stability. A Turkish Investment Fund, established in 2024, will facilitate trade and development projects across the region.
On international issues, the partners called for maintaining the Gaza ceasefire and supported a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with an independent Palestinian state within 1967 borders.
The agreement also builds on earlier cooperation frameworks, including the Organization of Turkic States' digital economy partnership and the Logistics Centers Association established in June 2024.
