Uzbekistan and Afghanistan: Companies Extend Electricity Supply Deal

Companies of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have extended an electricity supply agreement for 2025, Orda reports, citing Gazeta.uz.
The supplies will be sent to Afghanistan in 2025. Uzenergosotish and the Afghan company DABS concluded the purchase agreement.
Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov also addressed constructing the Surkhan-Pol-e-Khomri power transmission line, a 500 kV transmission line running from Surkhan - Pol-e-Khomri - Kabul.
As TOLO news reports, Afghanistan produces 20% of its electricity domestically, while 80% is imported from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran.
Afghanistan previously signed an agreement with Tajikistan in late November and with Turkmenistan on December 7.
