Uzbek PM Visits Iran, Signs Cooperation Agreements

An Uzbek government delegation led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov paid an official visit to Iran on May 11–12, reports Orda.kz, citing the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers' press service.
In Tehran, Aripov met with Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref. The two sides discussed increasing trade turnover to $2 billion and resolving longstanding transport and logistics issues.
They also emphasized the importance of industrial cooperation, regional ties, and collaboration in science, education, innovation, tourism, and culture.
The following agreements were signed:
- A roadmap for 2025–2027 cooperation
- A declaration on goods under the preferential trade agreement
- MoUs on plant protection and Halal standards
Aripov and Aref also opened a joint business forum, where it was noted that bilateral trade reached $500 million and joint ventures exceeded 210. Agreements worth $1 billion were signed.
On May 12, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received the Uzbek delegation. Discussions focused on implementing agreements in trade, investment, transport, and cultural exchange.
The delegation also visited Iran’s Innovation and Technology House to explore developments in energy, healthcare, agriculture, IT, and construction.
