US Embassy Responds to Sadyr Japarov's Criticism

The US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan has reiterated the importance of financial assistance to independent media, Orda.kz reports, citing Kaktus.media.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that support for Kyrgyz-language media and investigative journalists contributes to the development of society and combating wrongdoings, including corruption.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov had criticized the US State Department at the III People's Kurultay.
His rebuke concerned supporting NGOs and media, which, in his opinion, seek negativity and spread false information.
The embassy's statement emphasizes that assistance to the media is aimed at the common good and strengthening a just state.
