The U.S. Treasury’s OFAC has published a formal advisory on November 10, 2025, announcing sanctions and export-control relief for Syria — including broad authorizations for civilian goods, while maintaining restrictions on transactions involving Russia and Iran, Orda.kz reports.
The move follows high-level diplomacy, including a meeting between Donald Trump and Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, and follows the UN Security Council lifting sanctions on al-Sharaa and Interior Minister Anas Khattab.
