U.S. Congresswoman Carol Miller Visits Kazakhstan, Meets President Toqayev

U.S. House of Representatives member Carol Miller visited Astana, where she met with Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, Orda.kz reports.
Toqayev received the congresswoman at the Aqorda residence. The presidential press service released a photo of Miller wearing a traditional Kazakh chapan.
Toqayev called the meeting significant, emphasizing that the United States has been a reliable partner for Kazakhstan since the country’s independence.
The two nations collaborate on regional and international security, nuclear non-proliferation, trade, and investment. The president noted a steady rise in trade turnover, which has now surpassed $4 billion.
Miller appreciated the warm welcome and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to maintaining a productive dialogue with Kazakhstan.
During the conversation, priority issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of energy and infrastructure projects, the development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as the expansion of transport and logistics ties between the states,

Earlier, Karlygash Zhamankulova, head of the Adil Soz Foundation for the Protection of Freedom of Speech, warned that the absence of an American envoy could complicate discussions on key economic and political matters.
