Ukrainian forces carried out major drone strikes on Russian oil and gas facilities in the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions early Saturday morning, according to Orda.
The attacks targeted a Lukoil refinery in Volgograd and a Gazprom gas processing plant in Astrakhan, ASTRA reports.
Both regions share borders with Kazakhstan — Volgograd and Astrakhan with the West Kazakhstan region and Astrakhan with the Atyrau region.
The drone strikes came two days after Russia conducted a widespread missile attack on Ukraine, during which one missile struck a residential building in Poltava, killing 14 people, including two children, and leaving 20 others injured.
