A ceasefire in the war with Russia should be achieved “well before the end of this year,” according to Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov, who spoke to Bloomberg in an interview published July 11, Orda.kz reports.
Is this realistic? Yes. Is it difficult? No. It requires at least three parties — Ukraine, Russia, and the United States. And we will reach that point,
Budanov said.
He also voiced confidence that Russia would not be able to capture the entirety of the Donetsk region by the end of 2025.
Budanov noted that U.S. support for Ukraine would continue and said Washington may soon supply additional air defense systems.
Trump’s position is consistent. He shouldn’t be judged by media portrayals. As the head of an intelligence agency, I know more,
he added.
The Ukrainian spy chief also claimed that around 40% of Russia’s current ammunition supply originates from North Korea, which he said is also providing Moscow with ballistic missiles and artillery systems.
In return, Russia is allegedly supplying Pyongyang with money and technology, assistance that Budanov says helps North Korea break through its international isolation.
