Authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region have confirmed an overnight attack on oil infrastructure in Novorossiysk, Orda.kz reports.
Ukrainian forces struck facilities at the Sheskharis oil transshipment complex, including the port and an oil depot. Regional officials said the resulting fire at the site has already been extinguished.
Oil analyst Nurlan Zhumagulov noted that Sheskharis also handles Kazakhstan's crude.
Through the Sheskharis port infrastructure, Kazakhstan's shippers export more than six million tons of oil annually via two routes: the Atyrau–Samara–Novorossiysk pipeline and the Makhachkala–Novorossiysk pipeline,
Zhumagulov said.
Orda.kz has reached out to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, which said it would comment later.
In late September, Ukrainian drones also targeted a gas processing plant in Orenburg, briefly disrupting gas processing operations, including volumes intended for Kazakhstan.
