Ukraine has launched a free Kazakh language elective for young people for the first time, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Ukrainian-Turkic Center, classes will be held online via Zoom, allowing residents of different regions to take part. Registration will remain open until June 15, with the first classes scheduled for June 20.
The center said the project continues its educational and cultural initiatives related to Kazakhstan. The organization has already held events dedicated to Kazakh culture, including workshops and thematic meetings.
The elective may be of interest to young people with Kazakh roots living in Ukraine. The Kazakh language is one of the main parts of the people’s cultural heritage. Through language, a person better understands history, traditions, and the country itself. Therefore, we believe such educational projects help strengthen cultural ties, the Ukrainian-Turkic Center said.
The course will be taught by Iskander Sagimbekov, who graduated from Central Asian University with a degree in translation and international relations.
