Two Rural Akims Fined for Hiding Family Ties in Land Allocations

Two Akims in the Jambyl region have been fined for failing to disclose family connections with individuals who received land plots, Orda.kz reports, citing a regional court.
Thus, in December 2024, the mother of the wife of the akim of Polatkoshchin rural district received a plot of 6.92 acres for use, allegedly for gardening. Two months later, the plot was transferred to the category of commercial use. In another case, the sister of the Akim of Karatobin rural district received rights to a land plot of 10 acres, and later registered another plot of 7.63 acres, previously leased, as private property. In addition, the father of the wife of this same Akim received a plot of 35 acres,the court decision reads.
Neither official disclosed the family ties nor reported a conflict of interest as required by law.
The Jambyl District Court found both guilty under Article 680 of the Administrative Code ("Failure to prevent corruption") and fined them 275,000 tenge each. The rulings have entered into force.
