Two Prosecutors Detained in Separate Criminal Cases

One is suspected of drug trafficking, the other of receiving a bribe, reports Orda.kz.
The National Security Committee has detained Olzhas Aliyev, an employee of the Qyzylorda regional prosecutor's office. He is suspected of selling marijuana. Orda.kz sources reported that Aliyev held a position in the committee's department for legal statistics and special records. He is currently in custody.
Ulytau regional prosecutor Samat Kaniyev was also detained.
He allegedly received a bribe of one million tenge. Investigators believe he took the money in exchange for a promise to "help resolve a case." Kaniyev was detained in Qyzylorda, his home region.
