Two large-scale industrial plants will be built in Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region — one for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and another for methanol production — with a combined annual capacity of 245,000 tons, Orda.kz reports.
According to Condor Energies Managing Director and Qazaq LNG CEO Norman Storm, the LNG plant will be located near the port of Quryq in Qarakiyan district. It will have a planned capacity of 145,000 tons per year and cover 16 hectares.
The project is scheduled for launch in 2027, employing 300 workers during construction and 100 permanent staff after commissioning.
The second plant, also set to open in 2027, will produce 100,000 tons of methanol annually. Construction will create 350 jobs, and the operational facility will employ 200 permanent workers. Methanol is widely used in the chemical and fuel industries, including in plastics manufacturing.
Condor Energies has operated in Kazakhstan since 2006 and is implementing Central Asia’s first LNG production project.
