A 45-year-old man in the village of Qaramurt, Turkistan region, killed his wife and then took his own life, Orda.kz reports. Their four children, now in an orphanage, discovered the bodies while preparing for school.
Neighbors and relatives continue to visit the Myrkadiyev family home, struggling to come to terms with the incident. Relatives shared details of what happened.
The first to see the scene was the couple’s 13-year-old daughter. While getting ready for school, she found her mother’s body and screamed for help, bringing neighbors to the house.
The father was later found dead in the restroom. Before his death, he left an audio recording.
His whole face was covered in blood. At first they didn't know what he hit her with. Then they found a hammer. It turned out he hit her on the head with a hammer, cracked her skull. The husband himself hanged himself in the bathroom, recalled the brother of the woman, Myrzakerim Myrkadiyev.
The woman’s body was discovered in the courtyard.
Her hair was torn out. Everything is covered in blood and dirt. Her head was tangled with garbage and grass. When they started washing, my palms were cut on the pebbles. They washed and washed. I won't even describe the face - it's impossible to recognize the person, said her sister, Mukhabbat Myrkadiyeva.
Relatives believe the quarrel broke out during the night and continued until morning. In his audio message, the man said he acted out of jealousy, suspecting adultry.
He said: 'I raised my hand against my wife. Because there was a lot of cheating. I was told that she was riding in a car with someone.' That's how he explained it. It was all jealousy. But he had no evidence," said the woman’s brother, Myrzarakhim Myrkadiyev.
The Turkistan regional police confirmed parts of the relatives’ account:
"According to preliminary information, a local resident inflicted serious bodily injuries on his wife, from which she died. After that, he left an audio recording and committed suicide," the police reported.
The couple is survived by four children, aged three to 13. One of the boys has a disability.
Relatives said the man did not have a permanent job.
