The “Uly Dala Elі” institution, which operates under the Turkistan Region Department of Culture, issued an order to produce a historical video lasting between three and seven minutes. The project aims to present key stages of the country’s history.
However, the order has become the subject of an investigation, Orda.kz reports.
The controversy began after a social media post drew attention to a contract between the government institution and a private company, G7 Exclusive.
The company agreed to carry out the work for 100 million tenge. The contract was signed directly with the contractor, without a competitive bidding process. The procurement raised concerns among both the public and officials.
Regional Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov ordered a review.
Nuralkhan Kusherov instructed a comprehensive study of the circumstances of the contract's conclusion, including compliance with all procedures and the targeted use of budget funds,
the regional akimat press service reported.
Orda.kz readers have previously noted the large volume of financial allocations directed to the Turkistan region.
Over the past five years, the region has received about five trillion tenge from the national budget — an amount comparable to the development funding of an entire metropolis.
