According to Donald Trump’s special representative, Keith Kellogg, Kyiv is prepared to make “factual concessions,” Orda.kz reports.
Ukraine is reportedly ready to allow Russia to exercise de facto control over the territories it has occupied, without formally recognizing the loss or agreeing to their final status.
Kellogg made the statement on Fox News:
The Ukrainians have already said they're willing to give up the land... not de jure, forever, but de facto because the Russians actually occupy it... That's what they're willing to go to, they told me that last week,Kellogg said, noting that such agreements had already been discussed at a recent meeting in London.
According to Kellogg, Ukraine has reviewed the 22-point US peace plan and signaled readiness to accept it in full. He did not reveal details of the plan.
Still, he indicated it covers not only a ceasefire, but also possible partial recognition of Russia’s territorial claims — again, without legal obligations from Kyiv. Officially, Kyiv has long maintained that it will not cede territory.
Kellogg asserted that it's now up to the Russians:
If (Putin) really wants to stop the killing, if he wants this war to end, there is a pathway to do it that has been presented to him,Kellogg said.
Meanwhile, recent reports indicate that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has influenced former U.S. President Donald Trump to take a firmer stance on Russia, amid concerns that the Trump Administration will withdraw from peace-brokering efforts.
Against that backdrop, European nations are reportedly struggling to assemble enough personnel for the deployment of a deterrence force in Ukraine.
