Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing financial sanctions against the International Criminal Court in The Hague in response to its arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a White House statement, Orda.kz reports.
Under the order signed on February 6, ICC officials who support the court's investigations against U.S. citizens and allies, as well as their family members, will face financial and visa restrictions from the United States.
Trump maintained that the court's actions represent "an encroachment on U.S. sovereignty" and "undermine critical government work in national security and foreign policy."
The document emphasizes that the ICC has no jurisdiction over the United States or Israel, as neither country is a party to the Rome Statute or a member of the court.
