U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans for an upcoming conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin while speaking with journalists, Orda.kz reports, citing Reuters.
According to the agency, Trump revealed the scheduled call aboard Air Force One, returning to Washington from Florida. When asked about the timing of the conversation, Trump stated:
I'll be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday. A lot of work's been done over the weekend, Trump said.
The last Trump-Putin phone call occurred on February 12, which Trump described as productive. Following that discussion, the U.S. initiated negotiations with Russia and Ukraine on a potential ceasefire.
Last week, Steve Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow. While details of their discussion remain undisclosed, Trump characterized the meeting as positive.
