A train carrying European tourists was attacked with stones in Kyrgyzstan’s Chuy region, leaving one person injured, Orda.kz reports.
This was the first tourist train of 2025 to arrive in the country with foreign travelers. The incident took place on the evening of April 10, along the Kant–Alamedin route. According to Kyrgyz Temir Jolu, unknown individuals threw stones at the train, damaging the windows of the sixth and eighth cars. A member of the train crew was injured in the attack.
The train was en route from Balykchy, reportedly carrying tourists from various European countries. The national railway company condemned the act, stressing that such behavior not only causes inconvenience but poses a serious threat to passenger safety.
It is unacceptable when guests of our country suffer as a result of criminal actions, which can negatively affect the international image of Kyrgyzstan, stated the press service of Kyrgyz Temir Jolu.
Police are currently investigating the incident. A criminal case has been opened, and efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators.
