Toqayev's Visit to Jordan: Memorandums Signed

During the Kazakh President's official visit, The leaders of the two countries discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation and signed several agreements, Orda.kz reports.
After the official welcoming ceremony at the Al-Husseiniya Palace, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein held bilateral talks.
The President congratulated his interlocutor on the silver jubilee of his reign and noted his role in strengthening the interaction between the two countries, the Head of State's press service reported.
The purpose of my visit is to give additional impetus to our relations, friendship and trade and economic ties. I believe that we have common views and assessments of the processes taking place in the world. At the same time, we are very interested in strengthening ties at the political level. We have certain ideas. I am confident that in the near future we will be able to reach specific agreements and achieve very good results. We are ready to work hard within the framework of our cooperation. We consider Jordan a friendly state. We have a lot in common, the President said.
In turn, King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized that Qasym-Jomart Toqayev’s visit opens up vast opportunities for further expansion of bilateral political, trade, economic, and investment cooperation:
It is gratifying that today good opportunities are opening up for the activation of economic ties for the private sector, which, of course, is of extreme importance.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for developing relations in trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, energy, digitalization, pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics, and investment opportunities.
The two countries' leaders also discussed cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Currently, about 300 Jordanian citizens are studying at medical universities in Kazakhstan.
Following the talks, the President of Kazakhstan and the King of Jordan adopted a joint statement.
Representatives of the official delegations signed the following documents:
- Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
- Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Atomic Energy Commission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
- Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
- Cooperation Agreement between JSC National Company Samruk-Kazyna and the Ministry of Investment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
- Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management “Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan” of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Jordan Radio and Television Corporation.
10 interdepartmental and commercial documents were also signed.
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev invited Abdullah II bin al-Hussein to visit Kazakhstan and presented him with the country's highest state award, the Altyn Qyran Order.
The President noted the strong partnership between the two countries and the king's personal contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Jordanian ties.
