A Kyrgyz-language edition of the book A Word About My Father, authored by the President of Kazakhstan, was presented in Osh, Orda.kz reports, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Culture.
The book tells the story of Kemel Toqayev — frontline soldier, public figure, and one of the founders of Kazakh detective prose. His biography, as described by the president, is interwoven with the history of the Kazakh people, the hardships of war, post-war recovery, and reflections on family values, duty, and responsibility.
During the event, guests also viewed Bauyr, a documentary film based on the book.
The presentation was attended by the Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information, the Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Culture, the Mayor of Osh, and members of Kyrgyzstan’s creative community. According to Aida Balayeva, close personal relations between the two presidents strengthen not only political and economic ties, but also cultural cooperation.
Alongside Kyrgyz, the book has also been translated into Romanian, Arabic, Mongolian, and Turkish.
Toqayev’s audiobook is already available on literary platforms, and last year, a Moscow publishing house included Kemel Toqayev’s biography in its Lives of Remarkable People series.
