Political analysts expect a focus on security and a new social agenda, Orda.kz reports.
On September 8, Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev will deliver his annual address to the nation at a joint session of parliament. Traditionally, this speech sets the agenda for the year ahead for both parliament and government.
According to analysts, this year’s priorities will include digitalization, transport corridors, energy, and both economic and internal security. Aidar Amrebayev, director of the Center for Political Studies, noted that one key theme will be Kazakhstan’s participation in Eurasian and digital projects, including development of the Trans-Caspian route and fiber-optic infrastructure.
This year, the date of the president’s address was shifted slightly. Aqorda reported that in early September, Toqayev will travel to Beijing to take part in the SCO summit and ceremonies marking the end of World War II.
Earlier, we reported that the president ordered the completion of rural medical facilities by year’s end, the launch of domestic production of essential medicines, and improvements to the compulsory health insurance system.
