Toqayev Spoke with UN Secretary-General

On March 28, 2025, President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev held a phone call with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.
Toqayev highlighted the importance of the UN General Assembly’s unanimous resolution to establish a Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Almaty, which will serve Central Asia and Afghanistan. The two leaders also discussed next steps for the center’s operations.
Marking the UN’s 80th anniversary, the President emphasized the organization's enduring role as a universal and irreplaceable institution, and called on all countries to uphold its Charter and the recognized principles of international law.
Guterres praised Kazakhstan’s peacebuilding initiatives and contribution to global security and sustainable development.
