Toqayev Signs Law Ratifying CIS Anti-Corruption Cooperation Agreement

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has signed a law ratifying the agreement on cooperation in combating corruption among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, Orda.kz reports.
Maksym Spotkai, head of the Senate’s staff, stated that the agreement will enable the search for and repatriation of illicit assets held abroad.
It also includes provisions to protect individuals involved in anti-corruption efforts.
Under the agreement, the CIS countries will be able to promptly exchange data, conduct joint investigations and extradite suspects,reported in the Senate during the discussion on the bill.
