Toqayev Sends Congratulatory Telegram to Putin on 20th Anniversary of Kazakh-Russian State Border Treaty

The treaty establishing the Kazakhstan-Russia state border was signed in Moscow on January 18, 2005, according to Orda.kz, citing Aqorda.

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev marked the anniversary by sending a congratulatory telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This document, historical in its significance, based on the generally recognized norms of international law, became a solid foundation for the legal registration of the longest land border in the world and the embodiment of our unbreakable friendship, good neighborliness, and alliance, the telegram reads.

Toqayev expressed optimism about the continued growth of bilateral cooperation between the neighboring nations.

The Kazakhstan-Russia border, stretching 7,598.8 kilometers, stands as the world's longest continuous international border. It spans nine administrative regions in Kazakhstan and eleven regions in Russia.
