Toqayev Receives Shymkent Akim Syzdykbekov, Discusses Infrastructure and Asset Returns

Gabit Syzdykbekov became the third regional leader to report to President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev in recent days, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.
On August 19, the head of state heard Syzdykbekov’s report on the results of Shymkent’s work for the first half of 2025.
According to Aqorda, the main focus was on the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure facilities, particularly transport: a new airport terminal, a railway station, and several transport interchanges.
Syzdykbekov also briefed the president on the return of assets:
In particular, the Ice Palace, the Central Water Sports Complex, City Polyclinic No. 2, the Fantasy World technology park and the Ken Baba park have been returned,
Aqorda’s statement said.
A day earlier, Toqayev also received reports from Aqmola Region Akim Marat Akhmetzhanov and Qostanay Region head Kumar Aksakalov.
