Toqayev Meets EEC Chair Sagintayev Ahead of Upcoming Eurasian Summit

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chair of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, to discuss the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Orda.kz reports.
The meeting focused in particular on Kazakhstan's priorities as it prepares to assume its term as EAEU chair in 2026.
The President was also briefed on preparations for the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which will take place on December 21 in St. Petersburg, Aqorda stated.
Sagintayev has led the EEC Board for almost a year, following his departure from the post of Almaty Akim in the wake of the January Events.
