On August 15, President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev addressed the annual August conference of teachers, Orda.kzreports, citing Aqorda.
Speaking before educators, Toqayev reflected on achievements in recent years, including salary increases for teachers and the construction of new schools. He also highlighted broader societal changes.
In public service, the principle of meritocracy is being established. There is no longer a family-clan system in power. When appointing to positions, knowledge and professionalism come first,
the president said.
Toqayev outlined upcoming changes in the education sector:
- Increased stipends for students at pedagogical universities to 84,000 tenge starting this academic year
- Introduction of a unified educational program “Adal Azamat” in all schools, including private ones, with a proposal to extend it to teacher training universities
- Implementation of the anti-bullying program “DosbolLIKE,” recently announced by Education Minister Gani Beisembayev.
Early instruction in artificial intelligence technologies for children, with parallel training for teachers to apply modern tools in their work.
A teacher must not only know their subject well, but also be able to apply new technologies in educational practice,
Toqayev stressed.
The president also proposed amending the Law “On the Status of a Teacher” to prevent educators from being penalized for incidents occurring outside school grounds.
