Toqayev Held Talks with Turkmen President in Ashgabat
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Serdar Berdimuhamedow discussed the strategic partnership development between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Orda.kz reports, citing the presidential press service.
The meeting began with an official ceremony at the Oguzkhan Palace Complex, during which the leaders of the two countries introduced members of their delegations to each other.
During the talks, Toqayev noted the importance of regular high-level meetings to continue to strengthen cooperation between the countries. He emphasized Turkmenistan's strategic importance for Kazakhstan and confirmed the willingness to maintain partnerships in key areas.
Turkmenistan is a very close country for us, our strategic partner. Kazakhstan will always be a reliable ally on such important issues as energy, transport, and cultural interaction. We also highly value Turkmenistan's contribution to international security and are ready to closely cooperate within the UN and other organizations, Toqayev noted.
In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedow expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for supporting Turkmenistan's neutral foreign policy and emphasized that both countries seek to strengthen trade, economic and cultural ties.
He noted the willingness to continue joint work in energy, transport, agriculture, and other key areas.
We attach particular importance to our strategic partnership with Kazakhstan and are ready to develop cooperation in many areas, Berdimuhamedow said.
The leaders confirmed their readiness to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries, assuring their cooperation will only expand.
