Toqayev Dismisses Defense and Transport Ministers, Appoints New Advisor

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has made a series of personnel changes in the government, according to official statements, Orda.kz reports.
Ruslan Zhaqsylyqov has been relieved of his duties as Minister of Defense. No official reason for the dismissal was given.
Marat Karabayev has been dismissed from his position as Minister of Transport. He had led the Ministry since its formation in September 2023. Karabayev had previously received a reprimand.
Asel Zhanassova has been appointed as an advisor to the president. She previously served as Chair of the Board at Kazpost.
