In the agricultural sector, gross output is planned at 1.2 trillion tenge, and the area of oilseed crops has increased 2.5 times. An industrial zone of national significance has been created in Arshaly district, and the total portfolio of investment projects has reached $4 billion with the prospect of creating 10,000 jobs, the akim’s press service quoted him as saying.
The report also covered housing for those in need, schools in disrepair, and utility modernization. A 240 MW thermal power plant is under construction in Kokshetau, and nine villages are scheduled to be connected to gas by year’s end.
Toqayev instructed officials to accelerate the harvest, develop the town of Qoshy, and prepare for potential floods.
Originally, the Kokshetau power plant was to be built by Russia’s Inter RAO, but the company failed to deliver equipment due to financing problems. Kazakhstan is now carrying out the project independently.
