Toqayev Discusses Challenges and Priorities with SCO Secretary-General

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Nurlan Yermekbayev, to discuss prospects for cooperation within the SCO framework, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.

– Kazakhstan views the SCO as a balanced international organization capable of responding swiftly and adequately to global challenges.
– Qasym-Jomart Toqayev praised China’s chairing of the organization and emphasized the need to continue improving SCO mechanisms.

Toqayev and Xi Jinping recently held talks in Astana on cooperation through international and regional organizations, including the UN, SCO, and CICA.
