President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on Constitution Day, marking 30 years since the country adopted its Basic Law by referendum, Orda.kz reports.
The Constitution has become a solid foundation of Kazakh statehood, the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Constitution reflects the values and principles that determine the present and future of the nation.
The Constitution has formed the legal foundation of Kazakhstan as a socially oriented state serving the interests of all citizens regardless of their ethnic and religious affiliation. The Constitution has become a reliable guarantor of public harmony and internal stability. All our achievements in various areas are inextricably linked with the Constitution,
Toqayev said in his address.
He highlighted the constitutional reform of 2022, which modernized the political system under the principle of “a strong president — an influential parliament — an accountable government:
During the reform, special attention was paid to the protection of human rights, the establishment of the rule of law and order. A number of new provisions of the Constitution are innovative and have no precedents in world practice. Building a Fair, Clean, Strong and Safe Kazakhstan implies respect for the Constitution, strict observance by the citizens of our country of all its provisions.
Toqayev concluded by wishing citizens good health and prosperity.
