Kazakhstan’s President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev emphasized that the International Day Against Nuclear Tests, observed on August 29, was established by the UN General Assembly at Kazakhstan’s initiative, Orda.kz reports.
Writing on X, Toqayev reflected on the country’s legacy of nuclear testing:
Our people became victims of the grave consequences of nuclear weapons tests. This tragedy must never be repeated.
