Toqayev Briefed on New Railway Corridor and Surge in Transit Traffic

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Temir Joly (KTZ), on July 31 to discuss key infrastructure projects, Orda.kz reports, citing Aqorda.
A central focus of the meeting was the development of new railway lines:
Talgat Aldybergenov informed about the progress of construction of more than 1.7 thousand kilometers of new railway lines and the modernization of 3 thousand kilometers of tracks,
Aqorda’s official statement noted.
Toqayev was updated on several major projects, including the near-completion of the Dostyq-Moiynty section, ongoing work on the Darbaza-Maktaaral line, and the launch of construction on the Baqty-Ayagoz and Qyzylzhar-Moiynty routes.
Aldybergenov also reported a significant boost in freight performance, citing an 8.6% increase in overall freight turnover, including a 14.6 million ton rise in transit cargo.
