Toqayev Arrives in Moscow for Victory Day Parade, Putin Sends Congratulatory Messages

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received a congratulatory telegram from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, reports Orda.kz.
The leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries also received messages from Putin.
It is vital to stop attempts to distort common history and to consign to oblivion the atrocities committed by the Nazis, Vladimir Putin pointed out in his congratulatory telegram.
In our countries, we sacredly honor the memory of the glorious deeds and great sacrifices of our fathers and grandfathers, who bravely fought shoulder to shoulder against the Nazi invaders and selflessly worked in the rear. Our sacred duty is to carefully preserve the legacy of the generation of victors,
the Kremlin press service quotes the Russian leader as saying.
The Kremlin specifically emphasized that in his addresses to Georgia and Moldova, Vladimir Putin called for preserving good traditions of friendship and mutual assistance and not allowing discord to be sown between peoples.
On May 9, Moscow will host a Victory Parade with the participation of world leaders. Among those invited is the President of Kazakhstan, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev, who has arrived in the Russian capital at Putin’s invitation to participate in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory.
Today in Moscow, the President of Kazakhstan will hold a number of meetings with the heads of foreign states,the Aqorda press service reported.
