Toqayev and Pashinyan Announce Deepening Kazakhstan–Armenia Cooperation

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and Nikol Pashinyan issued a joint statement following their talks in Astana. The delegations then exchanged several interagency documents, Orda.kz reports.
According to Aqorda, Kazakhstan and Armenia reached agreements in the following areas:
Trade
- Kazakhstan is ready to supply Armenia with $350 million worth of goods, including regular grain deliveries
- The first grain shipment has already been transported via Azerbaijan
Business
- A Kazakhstan–Armenia Business Council is being established to develop joint projects
Transport
- Both sides expressed support for the “Crossroads of Peace” and TRIPP initiatives and intend to link them with the Trans-Caspian route
- Plans include direct air service and cargo air transport
Digitalization
- Cooperation will expand in IT, AI, and startup development
- The TUMO Astana center is expected to open in 2026
Humanitarian Projects
- Student exchanges and cultural programs will continue
- A street in Astana has been named after Mesrop Mashtots, while a park named after Abay has opened in Yerevan
Following the negotiations, Toqayev said:
The new geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus creates favorable conditions for expanding contacts. Kazakhstan supports Armenia’s ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative. We also confirm our interest in participating in the ‘TRIPP International Route for Peace and Prosperity’ project. Connecting these corridors with the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and the North–South Corridor is in the interests of both countries.

Pashinyan likewise pointed to expanding opportunities for Armenia:
“I believe that the existing potential in the transport sector should be fully realized, as this will open up new opportunities for us.”
Toqayev and Pashinyan also discussed politics and regional security. Kazakhstan expressed support for efforts to reach a peaceful settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the U.S. plan for Ukraine.
Pashinyan described a strategic partnership with Kazakhstan as an essential step for the region, particularly in the context of the peace process between Yerevan and Baku.
At the conclusion of the visit, the President of Kazakhstan awarded the Prime Minister of Armenia the Order of Altyn Qyran for his contribution to bilateral relations.
