Tokayev Signs Law Ratifying Alliance Treaty With Tajikistan

Kazakhstan has ratified the treaty on allied relations with Tajikistan. The corresponding law was signed by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on May 5, 2026, Orda.kz reports.
The document was originally signed by the leaders of the two countries on August 22, 2024, in Dushanbe during Tokayev’s state visit.
The treaty provides for the further deepening of allied relations and the expansion of cooperation across a wide range of areas. This includes interaction in the political and military spheres, as well as the development of trade and economic ties.
The two sides also plan to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, transport and transit, industry, energy, environmental protection and digitalization. Special attention is also given to education and cultural and humanitarian ties.
