According to the Akimat, the large-scale performance set a new record for the event.
Qamajay is one of the most recognizable Kazakh folk dances. It conveys lightness, grace, and joy, and a performance on such a scale is not only spectacular but also important for preserving our culture, said Rakhata Tauyrzhana, head of the Shashu folk ensemble.
National Dress Day, part of the Nauryznam festivities, is celebrated annually on March 18.
