Elena Rybakina has set a new world record, earning the largest prize money in tennis history after winning the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Orda.kz reports.
She received $5.235 million, the highest payout ever awarded in a single tournament across both the women’s and men’s tours. Rybakina went undefeated throughout the event, beating Jessica Pegula in the semifinals and Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 6–3, 7–6 (7–0).
This victory is the most lucrative of her career and sets a new benchmark in world tennis.
Rybakina has now earned $8.456 million in 2025, bringing her career total to $24.438 million. She was previously recognized by Guinness for playing the longest tiebreak in Grand Slam history — 42 points — against Anna Blinkova in Melbourne in 2024.
I tried to hit early. I was very aggressive [...] The best players will give you a few chances, but not many. I took everything I could, Rybakina said after the final.
Earlier, she claimed her 10th WTA title by winning the Ningbo tournament.
President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev awarded her the Order of Barys, 3rd Class, calling her WTA Finals victory the sporting triumph of the year.
