Tasmagambetov Discussed CSTO Meeting Topics

CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov discussed the upcoming organization summit in Astana, Orda.kz reports.
Following the articles by Qasym-Jomart Toqayev in Izvestia and Vladimir Putin in Kazakhstanskaya Pravda, an interview with the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov emerged on TASS.
It emerged prior to the summit, which will be held on November 28 in Astana, and also on the day of the Russian President's arrival.
Tasmagambetov emphasized that one of the most prevalent areas remains the southern borders of the CSTO, particularly the border with Afghanistan.
Among the documents submitted for consideration by the Collective Security Council, I would particularly highlight the draft of the CSTO target interstate program to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border. As is known, sources of serious challenges and threats to collective security remain on the territory of Afghanistan,Tasmagambetov said.
When asked whether the organization would study the use of the Oreshnik missile by the Russian Federation, the Secretary-General replied:
The CSTO studies the experience of using, testing, and development prospects of all modern weapons. This is an integral part of our work. We also analyze together the international situation in which Russia was forced to test a new missile system. And possible scenarios for the development of this situation.
Imangali Tasmagambetov said there would be no discussion of ATACMS missile strikes on Russian territory:
Of course, the heads of state will discuss the entire range of issues related to ensuring the security of the CSTO states in modern conditions,Tasmagambetov continued.
Tasmagambetov also discussed whether the CSTO could restore contacts with the West after Donald Trump's return.
When politicians and government officials advocate for honest international dialogue and equal cooperation, this can only be welcomed. We will see what specific position the future American administration will take,Imangali Tasmagambetov noted.
Additionally, he emphasized that the CSTO continues to develop international cooperation at the UN platform.
