Talgar District: New Acting Police Chief Appointed

His predecessor, Nurzhan Kuntunov, was dismissed after Sherzat Polat was killed, Orda.kz reports.
The appointment of the acting head of the Talgar District Police Department was announced on the department's official Instagram account.
Lieutenant Colonel Aidar Umarov replaced him. He previously headed the police department of the Balkhash district of the Almaty region.
The former head of the Talgar district police department, Nurzhan Kuntunov, was removed from his post in mid-October. This happened after 16-year-old Sherzat Polat was killed.
Other police heads in the Almaty region lost their posts after the incident as well.
