Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan Finalize Historic Border Agreement and Launch CASA-1000 Power Line

On March 31, following a one-on-one meeting between Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon and Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov, a ceremony was held to exchange ratification documents for a historic border agreement between the two nations, Orda reports, citing the Tajik President's official Telegram.
Additionally, two intergovernmental agreements were signed: one ensuring access to water management and energy facilities, and another concerning road construction and use, including road intersections.
After the exchange ceremony, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov inaugurated the 500 kV “Datka–Sughd” power transmission line via video link. The line was built as part of the CASA-1000 regional energy project.
Meanwhile, the Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has also arrived.
The leaders of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan are expected to meet and sign an agreement on the tripoint of their state borders.
