Tajikistan’s Migration Service says it is holding daily awareness sessions at Dushanbe International Airport for citizens traveling abroad for work, particularly to Russia, Orda.kz reports.
The meetings aim to inform labor migrants about safety measures and legal requirements for staying abroad. Officials warn about attempts by extremist groups to target young people online, urging migrants to stay alert and avoid provocations.
Those heading to Russia are advised to check their passports at Migration Service offices beforehand to confirm they are not banned from entry.
Migrants are also reminded of the importance of knowing Russian migration laws, having basic Russian-language skills, and carrying professional qualification documents. They are urged to follow all local regulations while in Russia and to contact Tajik embassies or consulates if problems arise.
At the end of the briefings, participants receive brochures and job recommendations. This news has surfaced against the background of the Russian authorities' increased scrutiny of foreigners working in the country.
Incidentally, Tajikistan's economy remains dependent on remittances from labor migrants, many of whom work in Russia.
