Synthetic Drugs Seized from Foreign Nationals in Astana

Foreign nationals have been detained in Astana for trafficking synthetic drugs, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Orda.kz reports.
Based on footage released by authorities, at least some of the suspects were apprehended at the capital’s airport.
More than 100 kg of mephedrone, which amounts to up to 300 thousand single doses, were confiscated from foreign citizens,
the Ministry stated.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately six million U.S. dollars.
All detainees are currently being held in temporary detention facilities.
